# Gost: Guest registration and tourist tax — without the headache.

## Why Gost: The law wants every guest in ESTI within 24 hours of arrival.

ESTI is the Unified Tourist Information System of Bulgaria's Ministry of Tourism. For a small host that usually means:

- Passport photos in the chat that you then copy by hand.
- Every guest entered into ESTI one by one.
- The tourist tax worked out by hand every month.

**With Gost:**

- Guests fill in their own details — in Bulgarian or English.
- You upload one ready-made file to ESTI.
- The month's tax is worked out and you see the deadline.

## How it works: Three steps, a few minutes.

1. **Send your guests the link.** Every stay has its own link. Guests enter their names and documents on their phone before they arrive.
2. **Upload the file to ESTI.** Gost prepares the file exactly in the ministry's format. You download it and upload it to ESTI.
3. **Pay the tax on time.** Gost works out the month's tourist tax — nights × guests × your municipality's rate — and shows the deadline: the 15th.

## FAQ

### Does Gost send the data to ESTI automatically?

Not yet. Gost prepares the file exactly in the ministry's format, and you upload it to ESTI in a minute. We are looking into automatic sending with the ministry.

### What do I need to start?

Your property's number in the National Tourist Register (НТР) and an ESTI account. You already need the same number for Airbnb and Booking.com.

### Is my guests' data safe?

Document numbers and Bulgarian personal numbers (ЕГН) are stored encrypted on servers in the EU and deleted 30 days after they are reported to ESTI. We keep no copies of documents.

### Does it work with Booking.com?

Airbnb bookings come in automatically. Booking.com stays you add with one button — the Booking.com calendar doesn't share the details needed.

### Do I need to enter a card?

No. Gost is free during the beta. After it, the first 30 days are also without a card.

### What about the tourist tax?

Gost works out the amount for each month at your municipality's rate and shows the deadline — the 15th of the following month. You pay it to the municipality as before.

### Is the app in English?

The app for hosts is in Bulgarian for now. The form your guests fill in is in Bulgarian and English side by side.
